Long time no write. We've been extremely busy with two things: finishing up the new album, and rehearsing for live shows.
We are proud to say that the album is finally mixed. Chris will be mastering it shortly, and artwork is complete also. We will be adding the artwork, track list, mp3s, etc. within the next week.
On that note, we have decided to offer the album as a cdr in addition to the option of buying it through iTunes. It's that good, folks!
Live shows in 2006. Stay tuned...

Thanks for a great show at Argus Lounge! We had a lot of fun and hopefully you did too.
Final mixing for 'Fish and Flying Creatures' will be done by 8/14, and Kaleb (SCTAS) is working on the artwork as I type this! It should be available via iTunes sometime in September, and we will be sure to play some of the songs during our on-air performance on KZSU on 9/21. So tune in!

This just in: Co-Founder / Co-Writer Craig Clarke will be moving back to California as early as September, and will be rejoining D.W. Holiday San Francisco. We are all eager and excited for his return, just in time for our performance on KZSU!
We would also like to welcome the newest member of D.W. Holiday, PF Dumanis. PF used to be in a band called Blue Period, and is currently co-fronting a great band called The Matinees. PF will be joining us on keyboards at Argus Lounge on July 26 - welcome PF!
Craig was in town over July 4 weekend, and we were in the studio working on overdubs for the upcoming digital release entitled 'Fish and Flying Creatures'. So far, so good! Please check back here for more on this, as well as more upcoming gigs on the shows page.

We have been diligantly working on the new album which will be available exclusively through download only (iTunes, Napster, etc.) - The title is:
Fish and Flying Creatures
It will be comprised of older tunes that have never been released, as well as a couple new tunes.
We are also working on a series of 7" records. More details on that later.
Also, D.W. Holiday SF is seeking a Keyboardist. Contact us if you know of anyone. Thanks.

We had a great time at Bottom of the Hill this past weekend. Thanks to everyone who made it out!
For those of you who don't know, it was Belta and Lori's final show with the band. We want to thank both of them for their support and all of the hard work they put into the band, and we will miss them tremendously!
On that note, we are now a three piece band on the lookout for a bass player in San Francisco. Please email us if you would like to audition!
D.W. Holiday will be performing in Minneapolis next week at CMC's house, along with Soltero and Cubby from The Lovers. More info can be found on the shows page.
2005_April_18
We're excited and honored to be performing at a cd release show on May 8th at Bottom of the Hill. 'Time to Echolocate' is by The Ebb and Flow, and it kicks serious ass. You need to buy it when it's available.
Be sure to come by Hotel Utah this week (Wednesday, April 20) as we will have a special guest sitting in with the band!
Progress is being made with the new album that will be available exclusively through iTunes ~ more to follow. 2005_March_21 Hope you like the new website! Let us know what you think... 2005_February_28 Craig will be doing a short solo acoustic set next week at Pepitos in Minneapolis. Plus we have at least one San Francisco show coming up, on April 20 at Hotel Utah. We're working on some more as well. Check out the shows page for more info. In other news - recording for a new album is in progress. It also looks as though we may be releasing some older stuff exclusively through iTunes later this year. We'll let you know when that happens! Are you, or is someone you know a drummer living in the Minneapolis area? Please contact us, as we are looking to finish putting the band together in MN! Thanks. 2005_January_03 Where to begin? Well, Craig has scheduled a tune-up for his piano so that recording work can begin in Minneapolis. We should have some basic tracks recorded by the end of January. We may eventually give a glimpse into the recording process, including pictures and demos / rough mixes as they are available. There's a great new review by Performer Magazine on the Music page - check it out! Ah yes, D.W. Holiday has joined the legions at My Space. Are you a member? Want to join our friend's list? Just click here! Come see us this month at Hotel Utah! Rock the music, do the twist, offer your hands to the air! More info here. 2004_December_14 Thanks to everyone who made it to the show in November at The Make-Out Room! We had a lot of fun and we hope that you did too. Special thanks go to Murray Jason for doing sound - great job! The band has recently moved into a new studio. We will begin setting up for the recording of the new album, of which there is plenty of material. We have decided to go with a more rockin’ album this time around, and there will be many contributions by the new members of D.W. Holiday. Fans of TDUTI - fear not! There will still be elements of the space and dreams that you have grown to love. We are also preparing for a show in January, and you can read the details on the shows page once they are finalized. We recently had the honor of having our album reviewed in the San Francisco Bay Guardian. Overall a pretty decent and honest review which can only be respected. You can read it here. 2004_November_01
Thanks for the support during the last two shows in October. We had lots of fun. This is an ACTUAL email that we received:
"...your guys show rocked. Even though I was so blitzed out of my skull I still remember throwing up on the drummer. Than petey the leprochaun was sayin I should burn things. But I was too weak with drugs and alcohol to move. That was the best time of my life." - Anonymous
For those of you who have not been to a D.W. Holiday show, THIS is what you're missing.
We've decided to add another member to D.W. Holiday SF. Murray Jason will be joining us as sound engineer extraordinaire. We decided to ask Murray to join us because of his enthusiastic and constructive criticism concerning our live sound at Rickshaw, as well as his knowledge and experience. Murray has previously been the sound engineer for Husker Du, Destroy All Monsters, and The Overtones, among others. Welcome!
We would also like to welcome the newest members of D.W. Holiday Minneapolis:
Elliot Craig - Guitar Tim Gamec - Guitar Billy Litzau - Bass
The band has been practicing consistently, however they do need a drummer. Are you a drummer or do you know a drummer who lives Minneapolis? Please write to us and let us know!
And please come say hi and hear us perform on Sunday, November 7th at The Make-Out Room in San Francisco. More details here.
2004_October_01
Lots of fun stuff. D.W. Holiday will be playing their first (and second) show in over a year during the month of October. We spent a lot of time and energy on the album, and now that energy in being transferred into conveying some of those songs in a live setting. So far it's pretty much rock n' roll music, but we're starting to incorporate the spacey aspect that everyone has been raving about.
We will be performing live on KZSU (Stanford) during the first week of November. It's possible that the reception won't be so good in San Francisco and beyond, so we will be posting instructions for streaming the show via the web as well. Look for more info about this, and the above mentioned shows in the SHOWS section.
On that note, please call and request your favorite D.W. Holiday songs on 90.1 FM - KZSU as the album is now officially in regular rotation. The request phone number is: (650) 723-9010
If you live outside of San Francisco, give your local college station a call - chances are that they have the album and would be happy to play it.
Craig reports from MN that shows will possibly begin in November. We will keep you updated.

There are some upcoming shows posted in the... shows.. section. Prepare to ROCK.
Craig is putting the final touches on D.W. Holiday MN. He also reports that Enzyte really does work; now he has a smile just like Bob's, and a happy woman back at the clubhouse.

Well, it appears that the website is taking shape. Once complete, you will be able to find the basic info about D.W. Holiday, as well as fun stuff including unreleased songs, pictures and short stories written by the band.
Craig reports from Minneapolis that the search for band members continues. For those who don't know, we decided to create two separate bands when Craig left California for Minnesota. We will share the name and songs of D.W. Holiday, and hopefully double our exposure. We really feel that people will love the new record and the way it translates live in both MN and CA.
On the California front, we (Belta, Dan) would like to welcome the newest members of D.W. Holiday SF:
Chris Cline - Drums (formerly in The Bother) Djuna Gray - Bass and Guitar (formerly in Slow Poisoners) Lori Norcia - Keys (formerly in Omaha, NE)
We have been rehearsing regularly, adding various layers and textures to our live sound. Please come see us live, and say hello. We love meeting new people!
Craig will begin playing acoustic sets in Minneapolis shortly, and we encourage you to check him out when that happens. Are you a musician living in Minneapolis? Contact us about the possibility of joining D.W. Holiday MN.

Welcome to dwholiday.com! We are currently working on this site, but in the meantime we have the basics up here for you.
Everyone keeps asking us when we will be playing - just so you know, we are now booking shows for October of 2004. Once we have something finalized, it will be posted in our shows section.
But regardless, you should buy our new album
'Technical Difficulties, Under The Influence...'
It's been getting really good reviews and lots of college radio airplay. We're most excited about local support from KZSU at Stanford! We are talking with them about doing a live, on-air performance sometime within the next couple of months. Thanks to DJ Murray for setting that up for us. You should listen to his show every Thursday from 9pm-Midnight; 90.1FM, or you can stream the show right here.
